124 Street

This street is known for its unique mix of stores, galleries, specialty stores, antique stores, fashion boutiques, coffee houses and its great restaurants. In addition, you have beautiful views along the Victoria Promenade, just a few blocks east of the corner of Jasper and 124th. The various art galleries in the area collaborate to offer a Gallery Walk and seasonal exhibitions focusing on work by Canadian artists. Some of the best food in town can be found around this street, from upscale restaurants to delicious takeout options, including Duchess Bake Shop, Zwick’s Pretzels and more.

West Edmonton Mall

The largest indoor shopping mall and entertainment complex in North America can be found in Edmonton and has truly everything. You can shop here for hours without getting bored, with both major brands and smaller local boutiques. Even if you are not into shopping, a visit to the West Edmonton Mall is an absolute must. With an indoor amusement park, subtropical pool, a movie theater, skating rink, hotels and much more, this is a place where there is something for everyone. A number of new stores including UNIQLO, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Canada Goose and Yves Saint Laurent opened in 2019. Tip: The West Edmonton Mall is a convenient stop on the way to Jasper National Park or on the way back.

City Farmers Market Downtown
The City Farmers Market Downtown is a farmers market that has been a staple of downtown Edmonton for more than a century. This year-round market is known for its friendly, open atmosphere and quality products delivered directly from friendly, local farmers, growers and artisans.

Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market
At the Old Strathcona Farmers Market, the motto is “We make it! We bake it! We grow it! We sell it!” The market consists of a selection of nearly 300 vendors across 185 stalls. Each Saturday there are more than 130 vendors selling only locally produced, handmade products.
