Op het water in Jasper National Park

On the water

Jasper National Park is home to lots of clean, clear water. Not surprisingly, you can have a great time on and around the water. Swimming, diving, boating, kayaking, rafting and fishing are all among the possibilities. Also be sure not to forget the Miette Hot Springs, these hot springs have a temperature of 40°C so you must be heat-resistant to enjoy these.

Rafting

Because of the many rivers, rafting is one of the most popular summer activities in Jasper National Park. You can raft independently or with a guide and there are many different levels. A great way to experience the park from a different perspective.

Canoeing, kayaking and supping

If you want to enjoy undisturbed mountain views, you really should do so from one of the many lakes. Sail to the middle of the lake, glide across the clear water and enjoy the intense peace and quiet around you. From the water you will have unobstructed views of the breathtaking surroundings. If you prefer to go out on your own, you can use the kayaks or sup.

You can rent kayaks at Kayak Rental and sups at Stand Up Paddle Board Rental

Boat trip to Spirit Island

In Malign Lake lies the much-loved Spirit Island. The island is in the middle of a glacial lake and this lake is surrounded by impressive mountains. The views are phenomenal and the best way to explore the lake is by boat. You can take the Maligne Lake Cruise, which is known as the best boat tour in Canada. The Maligne Lake Premium Cruise is similar, but has some nice extras, such as a guided hike on Spirit Island.
